Thymen Arensman, the climbing-and-time-trial all-rounder for INEOS Grenadiers, geared his 2026 toward a fourth Giro d'Italia start, building through the spring stage races before peaking in Italy. The Giro became the centrepiece of his season: his standout day was the Stage 10 Viareggio–Massa time trial, where he finished second behind teammate Filippo Ganna, a result that vaulted him into the podium fight. He carried third overall deep into the race before the Dolomite queen stage cost him a place to a resurgent Jai Hindley, and he finished fourth overall at +7:02 — a career-best Grand Tour and a breakthrough as a protected GC leader, aided by former champion Egan Bernal's pacing in the final mountains. The platform is set for a tilt at the Tour later in the year.
