Once more untouchable in the fast finish. SD Worx delivered her perfectly and she distanced the field inside the final 200 m for her second win in two days, padding the overall lead and the points classification.

Stage 2: Castro Jeriz → Bodegas Viña Pedrosa
Vuelta a Burgos Feminas 2026
A second consecutive bunch sprint, a second consecutive Lorena Wiebes win. SD Worx-Protime again controlled the day through the Ribera del Duero wine country and delivered Wiebes to a clear victory ahead of Elisa Balsamo and Ally Wollaston, extending her overall lead.
Wiebes makes it two from two in Pedrosa de Duero
The 122 km run through the rolling Ribera del Duero wine country was, like Stage 1, destined for a sprint. An early attacking phase produced the day's breakaway, but SD Worx-Protime rode it on a short leash to protect Wiebes' jersey and keep her in position for the finish and intermediate bonuses. The move was brought back well before the final kilometres.
Into the finish at Bodega Viña Pedrosa, SD Worx again took control of the peloton and formed a strong lead-out, holding Wiebes near the front through the closing bends. She opened her sprint from a near-perfect wheel and won clearly, with Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek) and Ally Wollaston (FDJ United-Suez) completing the podium. Back-to-back wins extended her overall lead via the time bonuses and kept the race following its expected script — SD Worx ruling the flat stages while the climbers waited for the queen stage.
Wiebes extends her lead
With a second straight stage win and bonus, Wiebes consolidated the purple leader's jersey. The cumulative GC after two stages had Wiebes clear of Consonni and Balsamo on a handful of seconds, the order still entirely shaped by sprint finishes rather than the mountains to come.
Storylines from the stage
Lidl-Trek's sprinter was best of the rest, taking second behind Wiebes after Consonni had been the nearest challenger on Stage 1. A strong finish but no answer to the SD Worx lead-out.
Third on the day for FDJ United-Suez, her best result of the race, after a top-10 on Stage 1. A solid sprinting return for the team while Muzic was kept in reserve for the climbing finale.
