Vuelta
a Burgos Feminas
Vuelta a Burgos Féminas 2026 — three days of Castilian racing from May 21–23, traditionally one of the toughest pre-Giro tune-ups on the WWT calendar. The 2026 route opens with a 127km Burgos circuit on Friday, moves to the Castro Jeriz → Bodegas Viña Pedrosa hilly day on Saturday, and closes on Sunday from Busto de Bureba to Medina de Pomar in northern Castile. The race has historically rewarded climbers and all-rounders, with selection-defining hills on every stage. As the last GC test before the Giro d'Italia Women begins on May 30, Burgos Féminas effectively previews the Giro favourites.

Narratives to watch
- Pre-Giro form decider: Held one week before the Giro d'Italia Women starts in Cesenatico (May 30), Burgos is the final tune-up for GC contenders.
- Castilian hills: The Castro Jeriz and Viña Pedrosa terrain produces selective racing — pure sprinters rarely feature, and bunch sprints are uncommon.
- Tactical 3-stage format: With only three days, there's no recovery from a bad first stage — every day carries GC weight.
- Burgos racing tradition: The men's Vuelta a Burgos is a long-standing Vuelta-warm-up race; the women's edition shares that DNA on a compressed timeline.
Form book & lore
First held in 2015, the Vuelta a Burgos Féminas was upgraded to the UCI Women's WorldTour in 2020. The race has steadily increased in prestige, with strong GC depth among recent start lists. The men's Vuelta a Burgos (held later in August) has its own tradition as a Vuelta a España warm-up; the women's edition runs in May as a Giro tune-up.
When to tune in
Saturday's Bodegas Viña Pedrosa stage is typically the climbing decider. Sunday's closing day to Medina de Pomar usually produces the final podium shape — late attacks possible on the rolling Castilian terrain.
