A hat-trick for Lorena Wiebes, who completed three flat-stage wins in a row at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater, ahead of Lara Gillespie and Amalie Dideriksen.
The 121 km loop finishing at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater was the third and final flat stage, and it produced a third straight bunch sprint. No breakaway threatened the sprinters' teams, and the day was again decided in a mass gallop on the seafront finish.
Wiebes was untouchable, taking her third win of the race to lock down the sprint dominance of the week, with Lara Gillespie second again and Amalie Dideriksen third for Cofidis. The result left the red jersey on Wiebes's shoulders going into the decisive Jebel Hafeet stage, where the climbers would finally get their chance.
Wiebes carried the red jersey into the queen stage after three flat days, but with the entire GC effectively neutralised among the finishers, the overall was always going to be decided on the stage 4 summit finish. The pure climbers — Longo Borghini, Trinca Colonel, Niewiadoma — remained safely in the bunch, conceding nothing before the mountain.
Completed a perfect sweep of the three flat stages with a third straight bunch-sprint win at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater. The hat-trick, plus the points accumulated, secured the green points jersey for the week even though she would lose the red on the summit finish the next day.
Second again on the final flat stage, her second runner-up finish behind Wiebes. Gillespie was consistently the best of the rest in the sprints, giving UAE Team ADQ a strong fast-finish card alongside Longo Borghini's GC effort.
