Stage 7: Nice - Auron
Paris-Nice 2026
Snow and rain forced the queen stage to be shortened twice on the day — first from 138.7 km to 120 km when snow blocked Auron, then to a final 47 km from Le Broc to Isola after heavy rain made the lower roads unsafe. The shortened race produced a reduced-bunch result with no meaningful GC change.
Weather neutralises the queen stage twice
Initial plan: 138.7 km, mountain-top finish at Auron. First revision: 120 km, finish moved to Isola. Second revision: neutralised until km 73, riders bussed to Le Broc, only the final 47 km from there to Isola were actually raced.
The 47 km version was a short uphill drag run in winter conditions and ended in a reduced-bunch finish. GC effectively unchanged from Stage 5.
Stage cut, GC unchanged
Weather neutralisation means Vingegaard's overall lead survives without challenge.
