Form book & lore
First run in 1993, the Tour of Slovenia is the country's premier stage race and a historic springboard for its golden generation: Primoz Roglic (2018, 2019), Tadej Pogacar and Matej Mohoric all built early reputations here. In recent editions the WorldTour superstars have largely moved on to bigger June targets, leaving the race as a proving ground for emerging GC talents and ProTeam climbers - the 2025 edition was won overall by Anders Halland Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility). The Kranjska Gora mountain finish has repeatedly been the GC-deciding stage, cementing the race's identity as a climbers' contest with a passionate home crowd.
