Stage 2 covers 149km from Aigle (Swiss UCI headquarters town) to Geneva on largely flat terrain following the Rhône valley. After the hilly opening day, this is the pure sprinters' first chance — a clean run-in to Geneva with the closing kilometres on the Rhône embankments suiting organised lead-out trains.
