What the stage looks like
Stage 2 is a 180km hilly stage from Tarragona along the Catalan Mediterranean coast back to Barcelona. The closing kilometres on the Montjuïc circuit favour puncheurs and classics riders over pure sprinters. First road race after the opening TTT; positioning is decisive on the technical urban run-in.
What to follow
- Catalan coast: 180km along the Mediterranean before climbing back into Barcelona.
- Montjuïc closing circuit: same Olympic-era climb used in many Vueltas — puncheur-friendly.
- First road race after TTT: time gaps already set by yesterday's team effort.
When to tune in
Watch the closing Montjuïc laps — punchy climbs decide the stage, not a pure sprint. Late attacks from 5km out typical.
