Stage 17 is 175km flat from Chambéry (the Savoyard Alps gateway town) to Voiron in the Isère. A rest-day-equivalent flat transitional stage between the Stage 16 ITT and the Stage 18 Alpine summit. Pure sprinter's opportunity in the heart of the Alpine block.
