Stage 10
Aurillac → Le Lioran
Stage 10 is the Massif Central mountain day — 167km from Aurillac to a summit finish at Le Lioran (Cantal). The Massif Central's volcanic terrain provides a different climbing rhythm from the Pyrenees: shorter, steeper, more punchy climbs leading into the final ascent. Often produces breakaway victories rather than GC fireworks.

What the stage looks like

What to follow
- Massif Central: the volcanic peaks of central France produce a unique climbing character.
- Le Lioran ski station summit finish: short steep gradients suit puncheur-climbers.
- Often a breakaway day — GC teams may sit back ahead of the Alps and Vosges still to come.
When to tune in
Watch the breakaway composition: if GC-relevant riders sit in the move, the peloton has to chase. Otherwise opportunistic puncheurs take the line.
